The Schools Think they can Raise your Children Better than YOU

Tara Ferf Jentink is a mother with a warrior’s heart to fight for her children and children around the state/country.  She is stepping up in ways  that other parents aren’t.  We will discuss events in Ferrisburg, VT, where her children are in 3rd grade and 1st grade.  It started with health class in elementary – what was being taught wasn’t on the posted scope an and sequence materials. Their focus is more on gender care – and less on academics.

6 min They are bringing in an outside group - Woman’s Safe –to teach these classes. Last year I could sit in on class with a different principal.  Not so this year claiming it was due to hippa regs.  What about parent aids to protect the kids as observer/volunteer?  I was told the volunteers have training and background check.  So, they thought they could bully you out of your rights?

11 min At that point Mama Bear instincts would kick in.  Other parents were picking up children and leaving the health classes when Women’s Safe came.  This led to a meeting with another parent, the principal and the district equity coordinator. 
Many parents feel the content is is age inappropriate.  It is too heavy for them.  Their reply was that it was too heavy if they don’t know.   What the are doing is very comprehensive.  They bring in naked baby dolls with genetalia, and teaching about the full range of LGBTQ+ - with kindergarteners. 
Psychologists have known for years that knowledge of this can have adverse effects upon children.  It can traumatize you for life.  Even simple things like exposure to Playboy magazine can do this.  Movies with graphic sex portrayals can also.  But teachers feel they know what is best for the children
Critical thinking isn’t in place until 21.  Children will rise and fall to the level of expectation.  When they are told you can be anything you want to be an astronaut, a unicorn, whatever you want… they believe.

17 min  When Aiden Become a Brother was read to the children a story of a transgender family that celebrates the transitions a family can experience, the principal came in to answer any questions the children had.   Realize  I am not opposed to the LGBTQ_ They are people and to be respected.  My issue is the school’s lack of transparency. 
When you mess with a person’s hormones it is known it can cause cancer in organs, thyroid, pituitary glands and create blood clots.  The children are being targeted.

22 min. Chloe Call was a 15 year old who was coerced by providers to have a mastectomy,  She is now 18 wants to detransition.  There is a lawsuit going.  In the UK there is a class action law suite being filed against the Tavistock Gender clinic with 1000 clients bringing charges against them. 
There are teachers that don’t want to read the Aiden story to the children, but they terrified that they will lose their jobs. 

28min.  The schools are undermining the relationship between parents and children.  If anyone else did this we would say they were grooming the child and have them arrested and go to jail.  The schools are changing the children’s names and files without parental knowledge.
Now the schools easily interject, the reason you are uncomfortable with your periods is you should have been a man.  Instead of reassurance about you are safe, now young girls can be told you are unsafe and add to the already confusing scenario, all kinds of equity messages. 
It doesn’t feel equitable to the family that wants to opt out of this type of material.  Whatever damage it does is justifiable in the minds of these educators…

32 min. Some transgenders will say - it did not help – all the sex changing procedures and I’m still uncomfortable in my body. In the Chloe case – they had to affirm the child’s choice of gender identity.  There was no redirect with informed consent.  This is not good for children and it is happening everywhere. 

35 min.  Tara, you had a lot of conversation with the administration that led to actionable legal action.  How did that resolve?  At the end of our 45 min. meeting I asked, what about health classes and the principal told me on behalf of the district superintendent that you need to find alternative school setting if you don’t want to have your child in health class.  I learned that what they are doing is illegal and unconstitutional. Was this just for health or other topics as well?   Equity education is now infiltrated throughout the entire curriculum with no accreditation or accountability.  No one is double checking to make sure they are learning math.  My daughter said there’s not much new they are learning in school – they want a challenge but aren’t getting it. 

41 min. When asked if she could come visit, she was told no, so she asked about a zoom.  However, it infiltrates  the entire curriculum.   When I said I’d like my children to be able to opt out and go to the library or office, I was told we can’t make these accommodations.  I presented legal opt out form from Parents Rights in Education; it takes 3-5 min. to register and they have training.  They weren’t about to sign anything. I learned it was illegal for them to force families out of the public schools and not allow opt outs.  So in the end the principal said - it is clear we are at an impasse .
You need to take a stand and stand together with your children and concerned citizens.  Though I was very angry, I kept a civil reasonable tone.  This is very important! 

51 min – During Pride week activities some of the students were shamed into participating.  The teachers were bullying students.  Parents do have rights – go to https://parentsrightsineducation.com/ Send them to your district they can’t be ignored if enough stand up in this way. 

56 min. - Parents should be encouraged to stand up and show their children that they are being cared for. I pick my kids up during health class yet they still are getting an A+ for the class they don’t attend.
What else should be discussed?  H89 – Is a gender affirming care bill that allows lack of parental knowledge and allows children to be trafficked into the state to get the treatment available in Vermont.  It legalizes child kidnapping, sterilization, and mutilation and will not recognize extradition rights.  There is a shield bill to protect gender affirming care.  Bottom line - the school knows best.
We shouldn’t be afraid we need to rise together.  Get training to go to school boards.  Stand up.  You can’t afford to be too busy… 

59 min. Homeschooling, Christian schools – why are they there, to protect your children?   You can still stand for the children left in the public schools. 
Why aren’t you on the school board, anyone willing to step up is suitable.  It doesn’t require you to have a child in the schools.   We have elitist out of staters are coming in.  Even if  they have Ivy League credentials, they aren’t better.  You are helping shape the minds of the community’s future
Susan Gallagher friend of hers at Parents Rights in Education.  You don’t NOT have time for the 16 hours of free training – the expense on the other side are too prohibitive.  Randolph, Essex and other places have concerned parent groups popping up.  Take a stand, become equipped, take a stand and join us.  This will be another Roe v Wade issue. 

1:04 min Imagine this movement came out of Vermont – We love everyone, accept everyone – we don’t hurt people to accomplish that.  That loving acceptance can be done without hurting others –love & grace.  I’m angry, but I know we can bring balance to the equation, so I smile.  :) :) :)
