Reigning Hope
ORANGE CANDIDATES
From Larry
I am fully aware that most Vermonters would probably rather forget about politics and politicians, but these days they are becoming hard to ignore. We, the average Vermonters of both lower and middle class, are being ignored. Taxation from Montpelier has been hurting everyone and that’s not fair. According to Vermont’s Tax Commissioner, over $490 million in new taxes will be taken from us this year alone. Affordability is one of the crises of living in Vermont. Taxation on heating oil and propane is unjust and unfair to families that are struggling to make ends meet. We need to hold legislators and the senate accountable for their voting choices. Public safety is a must. Catch and release from our judges need to be addressed and the judges need to be held accountable or be replaced.
Our housing crisis keeps needed workers and families from moving to Vermont and two Vermont cities are not on a top ten list of least safe cities in America on a per capita basis. We all, politicians and voters, need to get real about addressing these issues and many more. A one-sided legislature benefits nobody but themselves (They recently tried to double their pay and add benefits). It’s time “service to others” becomes the ultimate motivating factor to run for political office. That’s why I would like to serve you, the residents of Orange County, as you next State Senator.
My life has been in service to others. First as a United States Marine and later as the owner of NAPA stores in both Randolph and Bradford. I currently serve as the American Legion Commander for both Orange County and Earl Brock Post 20 of Bradford. For years I have performed wedding ceremonies and funeral services as a licensed ordained minister. I am currently a Justice of the Peace for the Town of Topsham after serving nine years as a selectboard member. I am a member of both Middle Branch and Riverside Granges. I currently reside in Topsham with my wife Emily Waterman-Hart.
Every Vermonter, regardless of party affiliation, should feel safe in their community and be able to work and live without undue regulatory burden or excess taxation. I ask for your vote and support in my efforts to serve you.
Larry Hart Sr.
Truly time for a change - Vermont needs balance, currently the Vermont Senate is composed of 23 democrats and 7 republicans. This has led to policies and spending that no longer represent what too many Vermonters can support or pay, but rather what an out of touch group of politicians and advocacy groups want. Vermont is best served by moderates, who are a principled group of leaders that can say no to increased spending and yes to fiscal restraint, increased economic growth, and innovation.
About Larry Hart
has faced one of the hardest tragedies a parent can ever experience with the loss of a child to addiction. He will be a Senate leader on bringing focus and clarity to one of Vermont’s leading and heartbreaking issues. This will include better recovery practices, recovery beds, law enforcement support and judicial reform as needed. Vermonters are tragically dying every day in Vermont from drug addiction and the Legislature needs a much greater focus on this horrible plague that has taking over Vermont.
